Peace Village Elders - film showings
"Peace Village" NY premiere film showing and fundraising gala -- with Elders Mike Bastine and Queen Mother Sylvia Jordan
Please join us on June 22, 2012 for the New York City premiere of "Peace Village," an award-winning documentary that conveys the spirit of teachings that indigenous Elders from throughout North America have offered at the annual Elders Gathering at the Sunray Peace Village in Lincoln, Vermont. For several Elders, this is the first time they have allowed themselves or their teachings to be filmed. The event is a fundraiser for the 2012 Elders Gathering, which will be held July 27-August 1, 2012 at the Peace Village. (Registration for that event will soon be available at www.sunray.org) Mutual Abundance Media, which created the film, is offering 100% of the proceeds of this event to benefit the Elders this year.
Registration for the film is $25 in advance, or $30 at the door. Space is limited, so please register early.
Doors open at 6:15 pm, with opening remarks by Algonquin Elder Mike Bastine (pictured in the left panel above), and Queen Mother Sylvia Jordan (pictured in the center of the right panel). The film will begin at 7:30 pm, and will be followed by a Q&A period. A preview of the film can be seen here.
We would like to thank Tibet House for graciously hosting this special premiere, and Mutual Abundance Media, for donating the proceeds to benefit the Elders.
