New Moon Celebration at the Peace Village, Jan 22

Dear Friends and Neighbors,

We will be gathering this coming Sunday, Jan 22 at 11:00 AM in the Sacred Arbor at the Peace Village to celebrate the January New Moon--the Cold Moon.

This is under the guidance of Venerable Dhyani Ywahoo and she states "We begin a new cycle with the conclusion of the Mayan calendar.  Illusions fabricated by separatist belief systems are now swept away by the eye of penetrating insight, which perceives the unity of forms arising from the sacred cave of the heart."

These Cherokee Moon Ceremonies are an ancient seasonal round of ceremonies throughout the cycle of seasons, corresponding to the lunar cycles of the year and the January New Moon is called the Cold Moon or Nv-da-ka-na-wo-ga, a time for fasting and personal purification.

Family and Friends are invited to participate in this Ceremonial Cycle. We carry these celebrations and traditions of the Ywahoo Lineage, of the Wild Potato Clan, of the Etowah Band of the Eastern Tsalagi Nation.  All are welcome and we will offer the stick dance at 11:00 followed by
offerings of the dance and practices.

We are grateful to come together!
