His Holiness the Dalai Lama sends a message to Vajra Dakini Nunnery
Vajra Dakini received a letter of support from the Office of H.H. The Dalai Lama!
"His Holiness the Dalai Lama is glad to know that under the patronage of H. H. Drikung Kyabgon Chetsang Rinpoche, the Vajra Dakini Nunnery, in Bristol, VT, USA, was established for the benefit of members of the monastic community in the United States of America.
His Holiness hopes that it will not only serve as a learning institution but also as a contemplative center. He sends his prayers and good wishes for the success of the Vajra Dakini Nunnery."

Solstice fire this Wednesday, December 21, at 8 am
Dear Friends,
There will be a celebration of the Winter Solstice this coming Wednesday with the lighting of the Sacred Fire at 8 AM in the Arbor, Peace Village! This is an opportunity to offer dances, prayers and corn meal in gratitudefor the breath of life, the returning of the Light and each other! It is a time to show appreciation for the planet, elements and all the beings that we share the planet with--those that walk with 2 legs, 4 legs, those that swim, crawl and fly upon the Earth!
And as we approach 2012, may our intentions bring about a shift to live lovingly, intuitively, authentically, creatively and with collaboration!
Happy Solstice,
Peace

Vajra Dakini Nunnery New Year's retreat -- Dec. 27 to Jan. 3
Change is just the way things are
Dec. 27 evening to Jan. 3 pm
As 2011 becomes 2012, we invite you to an intimate in-house retreat at Vajra Dakini to explore the pleasures and the pains of change. Given the opportunity to explore and embrace change, we may find our resistance, and our suffering diminishing. Given time for contemplation and rest, 2012 may become a truly new year.
Over the course of this Dec 27 - Jan 3 retreat, we will have ample time for practice and contemplation of impermanence in the ways it manifests, especially with regards to sickness, old age and death. The teachings that Khenmo will offer, the practices we will share, and retreat schedule will be suitable for both beginning and advanced practitioners. We look forward to sharing this peaceful, contemplative New Years retreat with you.
