"Peace Village" film receives Indie Awards

The Indie Fest, an international awards competition based in La Jolla California, just announced that "PEACE VILLAGE" a documentary filmed of indigenous Elders giving teachings at the Sunray Peace Village, has received two Indie Awards:

*  Award of Merit:  native/ aboriginal peoples;

*  Award of Merit:  viewer impact/ motivational/ inspirational

To quote the announcement of the latest Indie winners:  "The awards go to those filmmakers who produce fresh, standout entertainment and compelling documentaries . . .  The Indie Fest . . . honors professionals, established and emerging, who demonstrate exceptional achievement in craft and creativity. . . " Thomas Baker, Ph.D, who chairs the competition, had this to say about the latest winners,  "The Indie Fest is not an easy award to win.  The judges were pleased with the exceptionally high quality of entries.  The goal of the Indie Fest is to help the winners of this coveted award achieve the recognition and distribution they deserve."

We are deeply grateful for these awards because they will assist to ensure that the beauty, power, courage and messages of our precious Elders will reach many more beings who might otherwise not have access to their guidance, so crucial for these times.

The New Moon in February, also known as the Bony Moon--Ny-da ko-la--is a time to make offerings and rededicate ourselves to a year of good relationships.  The period before the New Moon is for deep cleaning, spiritually, physically, in all realms.  It is wise to redo the house at this time making all things clear and bright and looking at the nature of ones mind, confessing arrogance and doubt and casting them out.

Family and friends are joyfully invited to the Celebration.  As the sun rises over the horizon,  we will light our candle.  Greeting the sun with song will follow.  Dance of the Directions, Basic Meditation, prayers and offerings are practices we will share. 

Cornmeal will be offered with  prayers that all  beings may benefit. We give thanks to the light of day.

The Sunrise Celebration is a time of  strengthening the community bond and offering thankfulness for the beauty of the seasons' progressions and the seasons' changes. 

We celebrate the planting and seasonal cycle of the Green Mountain Ani Yunwiwa under the guidance of the Venerable Dhyani Ywahoo, who is the twenty-seventh generation  to carry the  ancestral wisdom of the Ywahoo Lineage of the Tsalagi (Cherokee) Nation.

We build our learning together with monthly sunrise gatherings.

Year of the Water Dragon -- Losar at Vajra Dakini Nunnery on Feb. 22

On Wednesday, February 22  Wednesday, there will be celebrations of Losar, the Tibetan New Year, at the Vajra Dakini Nunnery.  These programs are open. 
 
Dawn (7:45 am)  Offering to Ven. Dhyani Ywahoo with the Serkangma Seven Limb Offering prayer. Traditionally the new year begins auspiciously with greeting one's lama with prayers at first light, then offerings to one's Guru and the Three Jewels.  We will recite the Serkangma Prayer as a Guru Yoga Tsog or feast and make a smoke offering to clear obstacles in the new year.

Evening  (7:00 pm) Butterlamp Offering  We will host a candle lighting ceremony for Tibet and world peace.

2012 Sunray Calendar

Greetings!

We begin a new cycle with the conclusion of the Mayan calendar. Illusions fabricated by 'separatist' belief systems are now swept away by the eye of penetrating insight, which perceives the unity of forms arising from the sacred cave of the heart.

In this way, unknown possibilities are opened to the medicine. One may design devices with which, through suitably modulated radio or light radiation, cell metabolism may be affected. Even the repair of genetic defects is possible. Without all the risks and side effects of the classical-biochemical proceeding. See this link.

The Muscovite group of researchers could already prove this astonishing conclusion experimentally. DNA substance in vivo (i.e. in the living fabric, not in the test tube) reacts to language-modulated laser light, and even to radio waves, if one keeps the correct resonant frequencies.

With our words and thoughts we may sweep away constrictive paradigms and bring forth a world of beauty. All appearances of "the future are written in the now," even awakening our DNA as we energize our potential as wise beings.

Research reveals that light and sound awaken potentials within our DNA. We are changing according to our beliefs, which pulse through the field of our being.

Ride the wave of the Teachings over the weekend and the vibrancy of the Gadugis!  Come to our Thursday evening practice at 7:30 PM with tea afterwards!

For the last 2 decades, we have been practicing weekly the Basic Meditation and Dance!  In these changing times, there is the opportunity to come together as a community...to sit together!  May we bring our community into practice together by declaring the first Thursday of the month as a
community practice!  With tea following and maybe even cookies!

Yes, we will continue to practice every Thursday and everyone is welcome! But let's try to come together at least once a month!  As Grandmother Patricia has said that it is so important for the community to practice together!
